The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is requesting nominations until January 2nd, 2024 to serve on the Farm, Ranch, and Rural Communities Federal Advisory Committee’s Animal Agriculture Water Quality (AAWQ) subcommittee. EPA welcomes nominations from a diverse range of qualified candidates for appointment to serve on the subcommittee. The primary goal of the AAWQ subcommittee will be to develop recommendations that will inform the Agency’s decisions regarding how to improve the implementation of the Clean Water Act’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation (CAFO) permitting program to reduce nutrients and other types of water pollutants more effectively from Animal Feeding Operations (AFOs).
