April 10th: Register for Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) Learning Exchange Webinar 

The Source Water Collaborative is hosting its 2nd webinar as part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) Webinar Series on April 10, 2024 from 2:30 – 4:00 PM Eastern Time titled Demystifying How to Access BIL Funds for Source Water Protection and Natural Infrastructure.

This webinar will showcase the wide array of technical assistance (TA) available to help eligible partners develop project plans and application materials to access funding for source water protection, including through the Drinking Water and Clean Water State Revolving Funds. Attendees will learn how to request TA for support in accessing this unprecedented opportunity to invest in and expand source water protection programs. This funding will deliver long term environmental and public health benefits, particularly to small, underserved, and/or disadvantaged communities.

The webinar will cover the following topics:

  • EPA’s free Water Technical Assistance programs (new and longstanding)
  • BIL funding and Environmental Finance Centers
  • Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) eligible projects for source water protection
  • Case studies from the New England Environmental Finance Center

Expected Webinar Audience: The webinar is targeted to states, water utilities, source water protection staff, state SRF funding program staff, municipal officials, source water collaboratives, federal agencies, watershed groups, and other water stakeholders.

BIL Learning Exchange 

This webinar is part of a larger BIL Learning Exchange made up of a set of webinars and related resources to help water stakeholders use the new BIL funding for source water protection. The BIL Learning Exchange will:

  • Provide information to member networks and others to spur increased use of BIL funding to support source water protection
  • Highlight types of source water protection and green infrastructure projects eligible for funding
  • Identify and address barriers for using BIL Emerging Contaminants funding for source water protection
  • Develop best practices for funding mechanisms to obtain and use BIL funds, and
  • Highlight case studies or example projects

Future webinar topics will include the role of forests and BIL funding through U.S. Forest Service, and environmental justice implications of BIL.
