April 13 Source Water Protection Webinar

On Wednesday, April 13, 2022, from 3:00 – 4:00 pm (eastern time), the North Central Region Water Network (NCRWN) will host a source water protection webinar as part of its monthly webinar series. The NCRWN is a partnership of 12 Extension-led land-grant universities, ensuring safe and sufficient water supplies and sustainable, and resilient communities. During the webinar, participants will hear about the National Source Water Collaborative, learn how Kansas is working to protect drinking water through improved soil health, hear how extension is working with communities on source water protection planning, and listen to a facilitated question and answer session with the speakers. Participants will include representatives from state and federal agencies, watershed groups, conservation districts, water utilities, private planners, and agricultural organizations, and more. The featured speakers are:

  • Sylvia Malm, Senior Advisor for Source Water Protection, Ground Water Protection Council and the Source Water Collaborative
  • Logan Smith, Geology Specialist, Drinking Water Protection Program Coordinator, Kansas Bureau of Environmental Field Services
  • Ruth Kline-Roback, Outreach Specialist, Institute of Water Research & Department of Community Sustainability, Michigan State University
